From the tender age of three, I was immersed in the world of food, mastering seafood and Portuguese-Indian cuisine at the hip of my grandmother, Nana Lucy.
Nana Lucy was a legendary cook in her coastal town, renowned far and wide for her unforgettable dishes. Her signature cuisine, a jewel of our family heritage, carried the bold, soulful flavours of true Portuguese-Indian and Southern Indian cooking — traditions that have been passed down through generations.
With Heavenly Morsel Cooking Classes Australia, I opened my doors to share this heritage with the world — and to redefine the perception of Indian cuisine in Australia. My vision was clear: to spotlight the beauty of authentic regional Indian food, delivered through luxurious, intimate masterclasses that transport guests on a sensory journey — one that excites the palate, sparks creativity, and ignites all five senses.
After dining at countless Indian restaurants and attending numerous so-called “Indian” cooking classes here, I was disheartened. What was being presented to Australians in the name of Indian cuisine felt diluted — lacking authenticity, depth, and the artistry this ancient culinary tradition deserves.
That disappointment became my purpose.
Sharing the true essence of Indian food — beyond the usual suspects of butter chicken and naan — has become my greatest passion. Heavenly Morsel is not just a cooking school; it is my life’s work, a soulful mission to educate, inspire, and elevate the way Indian cuisine is understood and celebrated.
There’s no greater joy than witnessing that lightbulb moment — when a student beams with pride at the gourmet dish they’ve created. It is in those moments that I know my calling.
Every recipe taught at Heavenly Morsel is either a treasured family heirloom passed down from my ancestors and mother, or a written original from my own culinary repertoire. You won’t find them on Google, in cookbooks, or on social media.
This is cooking at a different calibre. A deeper experience. A personal legacy shared with you — one unforgettable dish at a time. Join me, and discover why Heavenly Morsel is Australia’s leading spice masterclass — a gold standard in flavour, finesse and flair.
Sincerely, The Spice Queen
Heavenly Morsel Is A Gift From Tanya To You:
Nowhere else in Australia will you find a cooking school offering masterclasses of this calibre — an abundance of gourmet dishes, crafted with the finest organic ingredients, rare culinary techniques, and showstopping flavour — all at a remarkably accessible price.
So why settle for classes that teach just one or two basic mains and a filler dip or salad, when you could be creating a lavish feast of six to seven unforgettable dishes? At Heavenly Morsel Melbourne, you’ll cook with prized wild-caught seafood, organic Victorian meats and poultry, and threads of fine Persian saffron — a menu that far surpasses the standard. And the experience doesn’t end there...
Included in every class are luxuries unheard of elsewhere: a decadent grazing board, bespoke house-made mocktails, and a richly curated setting — all complimentary, all unforgettable.
This isn’t a business; it’s my labour of love. A passion project devoted to the decadent art of spice, and a desire to share my heritage, technique and joy with you.
A Heavenly Morsel Class shares with you my original written recipes that will last forever & provide countless memorable dinners for years to come.
